What "thing of beauty" do you secretly look at and wish you could be more like?

I don't see beauty as a physical thing. I know it sounds cliche but its a fact.

People who are, genuine, honest and kind and who can really live in the moment. I find them to be quite beautiful.
There are some people that make you feel like a better person, just by being with them. That is the beauty I admire and wish I could have.

LOL heather! You make me laugh, I love that about you, that and how open and genuine you are. 
I have been told I am hard to get to know, I would love to be as open as you and others but it just isn't in me to be that way. 

Don't worry, the 'things" we do are very loving and kind!  I try to teach my children how good it feels to give to others and to be that person who will do the right thing, even when nobody is looking.  Know what I mean?

Just a word of warning Heather , people are not always what they try to portray on the internet. Please be careful otherwise you could end up being hurt, there are some mean , vicious people on the net don't be too trusting.

good , because i think you are a genuinely nice person and i would hate to see you duped. I've been on proboards a while now and have been witness to some shocking things, its very sad when people intentionally try to hurt others. Just be very careful putting your personal stuff :out there , ok.

What does love mean to you?

Love to me, means a lot of things.
It can mean moments of happiness shared between two or more people, as happens in friendships, creating memories by sharing themselves in unique and fun situations as well as supporting one another through the hardest and most tragic moments.

It can mean romantic type love, that would provide stability, familiarity, security and intimacy.

It can mean the unconditional love you have for your children and pets- loving them through thick and thin.

But self love, where you love who you are, that is the hardest for me to define, as I am much harder on myself than I am on others. I think, that for myself, I started learning of self love only recently and have decided to stand up for myself instead of always backing down. I used to back down and run from challenges because I would be frightened. It's not easy for me to do- as my first attempts at this resulted in a few shouted obscenities and a tearful retreat.

But I am getting better at it.

Dogs know it best, they feel it without a doubt, without reservation. Total.

To men it is more subtle, though at times just as total. I feel love which has inspired countless artists musicians and writers over the ages to be what it is, hard to describe but when you have it you just simply know it. I know in me that it inspires loyalty, honor, and compassion. I love my fellow man, all of them, even those who don't deserve it. But that kind of love is different than the kind I feel for friends and family, they inspire me to be a better me. To raise myself up from base instinct to be worthy of a return of love.

I learned that every single moment could be the last moment you have with those that you care about. So, if you do care, you better let them know now- just in case. You don't want to miss your last opportunity to express your love.
